Filter is held on by torx head bolts, fyi. Might want to have an assortment of those on hand (bits).. I think its a 15 but my memory sucks these days.

In my notes for my '05, I have that it took 9 qts. So buy a few extra just in case. Infact I have my pan dropped now trying to figure out an issue with no 2nd gear or O/D. It will be later today before I refill it to post up how many qts.

OK, I used 8.5 qts of Valvoline +4. Also, thanks to your thread, I went ahead and installed a drain plug.

Here are some pics:

I used 12qts, but I pulled the return line. Before I dropped the pan, I pulled the line, started it up, put it in N and pumped out about 5 qts. Put it back in Park, shut it down and dropped the pan. It was so much easier and no big mess. Only problem is I didn't plan ahead; drove around to every local auto parts store looking for a drain plug - couldn't find one. I will have one on hand for the next change.

After dumping 5 qts back in, I ran the same cycle a couple times till the fluid started looking good. I know I didn't change all the fluid, but I got more than half. I used Pennzoil ATF+4, and everything seems fine. Shifts great and temp has been good.
