quick question because my truck won't shift from 3rd to 4th... is this the same issue you had? driving at 55mph at or above 2,500rpm?

if so this would be awesome to know because i was going to dealership tomorrow to get pcm scanned for $80.

the above fix is for the torqueconverter locking and unlocking, usually caused by bad grounds or electrical noise from the alt, there are many different "fixes" some work some dont.

as for not shifting into 4th, more likely the 4th gear solenoid is failed, you would have to drop the tranny pan to replace it, easily done.
good luck at the dealer! you may or may not get good service or results, you would be better off going to a reputable transmission shop, most will diagnoise for free

Dealer scanned the pcm, apparently the transmission is shifting into 4th gear. So with that being said he told me its either the solenoid is bad or a broken wire in the od wiring harness.

your tranny is not shifting into 4th, your PCM thinks its in 4th,
4th gear and TC lock up are controlled by the PCM, all the other shifts are mechanically controlled via the valvebody.

odds are pretty good its the solenoid, you can use a multimeter to test the wiring harness, after you drop the tranny pan

I dont have any links, but would suggest you call any local tranny rebuilder and get pricing from them, I would suspect it would be around 80$
