When i put the truck into 3rd/5th gear - and take my hand off the shifter, it will just slide back inter neutral. Also, when in 3rd gear under power - and i hit any sort of small bump or rut the truck will pop out of gear back into neutral. i was thinking maybe synchros? i had a con ofe sbc with hydro's and everything about 10000 km ago. if anyone has an suggestions or had any sort of expierience with this problem it would be muchly appreciated to hear about it. the truck is still under warranty, i would just like to have a bit of a heads up on the way to the dealer in a couple days. Keepers (or detents) could be shot. Can you feel them in other gears and not in 3rd or 5th? Do you keep your hand on your shift lever when you drive? Shouldn't have anything to do with synchros, they do their work during the shift, not after.

Don't know the G56 but on a ford ZF they are a ball at the end of a spring kept in place by a set screw installed from the outside.
