Tranny slipping

The last couple of weeks I've been having trouble with my 47RE wanting to slip if my truck idles in park for more than 5 or 10 minutes. Also, sometimes it will take a few seconds longer than normal to shift into drive. I'm sure it's not going to get any better, so I'll probably be looking for a new tranny in the near future. I'd like something mildly built. Any advice as far as brands? The limit is going to be around $3000. Thanks in advance.
