Tranny slipping HELP!!!!!

I need my tranny to last another week till my new one comes in any idea's? The tc is slippin. Change the oil? Put in sum sort of friction stuf?

put the lock up switch in that will help

What is it doing? If just the tc is slipping you should be able to drive around just fine w/ a light foot. If the clutches are slipping in the tranny, or the bands are shot, you'll have to have an even lighter foot. Take it from someone who just went through all this.

Yup, stay off the pedal. When mine started to go, I could drive fine staying under 70, then a week or so later (1500 miles) it got worse fast.

Run a higher rpm, that seemed to help when I had a bad clutch on one of my other cars. Made it home that way, with half of the clutch gone.

So, drive in 3rd on the highway at highway speed.
