Mine has started to shift hard now with 13000 miles. It was hard to shift when new then it seemed to break in and now I have noticed it dosent like to go into gears real easy anymore. I have to push a little harder than I used to to get it in gear. Down shifting always has been hard to do. It dont seem to want to down shift for anything. I realy have to push to get it in the next lower gear. I have read on anouther post that a guy found that his trani was extremly low on oil from the factory and was starting to make a lot of noise. I dont have any unusual noises. I do have some noises that I consider to be normal manual tranie noises but nothing that catches my atention. I think I will try and have the trani oil changed here shortly to be sertain it is ok.

It's time to change the tranny fluid. Mine started to balk at around 13k miles and changing the fluid to Pennzoil Synchromesh made the shifts smooth again.

The Penzoil Synchromesh is repackaged the Texaco MX?, which is the factory stuff. THE PS does not supply enough lubrication within the transmission. YOu may want to drain it and put in something like Royal Purple or Redline MTL or Valvoline. Alot of people on this site have switched to the Redlime MTL or a 50/50 mix of the MTL and MT-90.

I would not recommend Royal Purple Synchromax in the NV5600. It's too light for the application. Redline MTL is fine for the NV5600. I heard the 50-50 mixture is for the NV4500.
