Tranny Problems!!
Hello everyone, I have a 2006 dodge ram 3500 crew cab 2wd SRW Auto! The other day I was driving and noticed that when the truck tried to shift into second gear, it felt as if my tranny was slippin!! I could feel the slip and noticed my rpm's going up. Previously, I noticed the truck would act as if it were trying to find 1st or 2nd gear if I were driving at low speeds! I also noticed that it would not do it when was towing, but then again, who drives the same way while towing as they do empty? Can anyone help? The mods that I have are True Flow Filter Pac, M.B.R.P. Cool Duals and had a Diablo Predator that was kept on tow or economy mode! (Removed Several Weeks Ago). Thanks, From North Carolina

Common problem...Here's the fix: https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...ht=shift+trans
It's the governor solenoid and pressure transducer that need replacing.

Worth looking into
I have an 2004.5 48RE auto transmission. I was having the same problem with mine at around 100,000 miles. I took it to the transmission shop and all they had to do was tighten the bands. There is a adjustment set screw or bolt on the left side of the tranny that allows you to tighten the bands when they start to loosen up.

I don't have a cost....Mine was done, just before the warranty ended.

Click on Dodge parts on the right side. IIRC, you can enter part numbers. Their pricing is less than the local dealers.

I had the same problem at about the same amount of miles. My transmission guy suggested NOT adjusting the front "intermediate" band because the bands in these transmissions are already too thin and any adjustment on it will cause the band material to wear faster due to gripping again and you will soon be buying a forward clutch drum due to metal on metal contact. When I took my trans apart he was exactly right. Usually the clutches are fine and the torque converters are fine with minimal power adders but the front intermediate bands cannot hang in there. Fortunately good aftermarket bands are pretty affordable but then you have to pull the trans and tear it down to replace the band. As for the 1-2 shuttle shift, I installed a Trans-go shift kit in mine and it is still there when the transmission is cold. I will be trying the Allison electronics upgrade soon, I have heard great results from this.
