Tranny Parts

Got home from work today and found two boxes sitting on my steps from Goerend Transmissions Inc. triple disk convertor and valve body. Can't wait to get them put in, hopefully can start on it this weekend or early next week. My TC is getting really bad, shutters almost everytime it goes into OD. Hope I like it when it's done.

Dang it!! That delivery guy was supposed to tell me when that stuff was left on your steps!! Guess that was a waste of $50..... ;-) Sounds like a plan, hope it works well, I'm planning nearly the same myself. Good luck! :-)

I have that setup. Goerends triple, VB, and billet apply lever. I LOVE it. I cant slip my tranny at all, and I beat it pretty good. It shifts great, and flat puts the power down. Hauling a load is a pleasure now instead of the motor turning 2800rpm's and not going anywhere. It will bark the turbo locking up in overdrive if I want it to

Got everything in and back together this weekend, except I think I might be missing a part. On the sheet that came with the VB it shows a plug with a .04 hole in it that you put in near the accumulator piston. Does anyone know about this? I'm going to call Goerend tomorrow and ask him. I haven't drove it yet it's still on jackstands in the garage, I want to find out about this plug first just in case I have to take the VB back out and put in that plug. Anyway I hope it works as good as you say it does cumminsdriver635, then I will be really happy with my truck. Then maybe more mods.

That's probably not required anymore, Dave is haveing new separator plates made and he incorporates that into the plate, so you do not need to install it.

Mcmopar,

You are indeed correct about the separator plate Dave Goerend is having made and it does incorporate the change you mentioned. I have had Dave's separator plate in my hand and guess what?, it's a DIRECT copy of Dunrite's Trans Buddy kit engineered and designed by Tony Garcin. I know this because I build and install the Trans Buddy kit in every valve body that leaves this factory. Goerend buys the Trans Buddy kit from Dunrite and uses them in his valve bodies. Result; The best working valve body on the market. They work really nice, don't they???

I've been lurking around for probably 4 years and just made my first post maybe 6 month ago. I Have a Sweptline PU also and spend time on those forums. This is mine as TOTW on MoparNorm's site.

I've seen you mentioned in trans threads so just wondering if you work in a shop or just do some for your buddies? Do you install the valve body or the kit? Works good, doesn't it?

I'm sure Dave sent you the one for your truck, it is a 47RE in a 96, 47RH for the 94-95 trucks. Yes, the VB we are talking about is the one you got. Mine has had some custom mods done to it so it works a bit differently.

Sweet truck man, I have a soft spot for the old timers, I've got a really cherry 75 crew that I am working on a Cummins transplant for. She has a 440/727 combo right now. Look in my gallery.

About your other question--well, it might be considered a violation if I talk about things so PM me!! But I do both build with the kit and sometimes just get a VB from Dave. Depends on the time constraints.

Turned out great and as mentioned I didn't need that MIA part Dave said it was a old pic that needed to be updated. Truck drives and tows really nice really puts down the power it'll even chirp the tires shifting into second. Schoust I sent you a PM sorry took so long, really busy lately.
