I was under the truck looking around after I changed out all the tranny lines & I decided to add a cast aluminum pan with cooling fins. I think I read somewhere that a pan for a TorqueFlight 727 would work. Does anyone know if this is true? I was looking at this one. http://store.summitracing.com/partde...0&autoview=sku Also, can anyone with experience tell me what kind of temp reductions I can expect with such a pan? Thanks.

the 47rh/re evolved from the 727, so yes a pan for the 727 will fit yours. KD

O.K., I did it. The pan works great. Anyone looking for a finned aluminum pan for a C-note, check out the one in my original post. Don't use the filter spacer though, it won't fit. I learned from more research that a stock 727 pan is very shallow, so a stock capacity pan won't fit our trucks, but the summit one fits & looks great. Probably adds about a quart extra capacity & the drain plug will come in handy in the future. Hope it'll cool the fluid off a few degrees too.

Thanks for the info, I looked at that one before as well. So in comparison to the stock 47rh/re pan, is the Summit one a little deeper or about the same? Does it have a temp sensor bung in addition to the drain? Thanks, KD

The stock pan is about 2 1/2" deep. The Summit pan is 3 1/8". The stock pan has a little spot where it's about 2 7/8 deep, but the Summit pan is 3 1/8" all over with a flat bottom. No bung, just the drain plug. The filter spacer that comes with the pan won't fit. It's about an inch thick. I threw it away.
