Tranny Killer???
Tranny Killer???
Ok, i just got a set of POD's this summer and i absolutly love them! Installed like a dream, and boy do they wake that cummins up! Now i am concerned about the tranny. Its an auto with 218k and the only thing that ive had to do to it is replace the valve body.
Ive noticed now that i feel a slight rumble or vibration comming from the floorboards. Like i said its very slight but still noticable.
Is this the tranny going on me or could it be from throwing a few weights on the front tires??
And if it is the tranny going, what usually breaks on these things??

Thats what I felt prior to the flex plate comming apart. Pull the inspection cover and have a looksee. there will be metalic grindings and you can if bad enough wiggle it back and forth with a prybar. If thats the case you can upgrade to a later year flexplate from cummins for $90 or so. The part # is in the tech section i think. Mine went at 110k after a tow trip.
