Tranny hunting? Try this!
https://www.atsdiesel.com/PDF/120505...%2047%20RE.pdf
Tranny hunting can be a headache for all us 2nd gen people. Thought I would shed some light on my experiences which may help some of my fellow 98-02 people.
Ferrite chokes worked a while for me. So did cleaning grounds. Tried this and hasn't let me down yet. Feels like it should again!
If your tranny is hunting gears you may wanna give it a shot. When you take the time to examine what this fix is actually doing as far as the wiring goes, it makes good sense.
Remember that the wire from pin 3 (blue w/white stripe) on the APPS connects to the end of the wire for pin 23 (orange w/blue stripe) on the PCM that you make the cut on. The end of the orange wire w/blue stripe that runs to the ECM will no longer be connected to the PCM connector.
