tranny hang time when at WOT

did a search could not find what I was looking for, I usually hang out in the 2nd gen area as that is what I own.
I'm looking at a 3500 2005 truck that will hit red line and NOT shift until you let off the throttle. I'm guessing by the threads I've read that there is no TV adjustment...
is there anyway to make it shift sooner.

That is generally a gov solenoid problem. If all the pieces are working correctly it will shift correctly but with the TTVA motor instead of TV cable not much adjustment to make.

thanks for the input!!
I road tested the truck and it was holding redline only in the 1-2 shift, once past 2nd everything shifts as it should.
I read posts claiming band adjustment was the issue, sure enough I "loosely" adjusted the front band, I did not set to torque, just spun it in till snug then backed off 2 turns, gonna have to go find the spec's to adjust properly.

road tested truck sure enough truck shifts properly now. even with my rough adjustment, set screw is flush or slightly lower than adjusting nut, so my question is how much life is left in the band?

Not good, either the band is pretty well smoked or the strut and possibly the band itslef has stretched. Once you are down to 1 thread showing on the lock nut its time to look at taking it apart.

Definitely set the band adjustment correctly first to make sure you know where you are.

Set torque to 72inch/lbs and backed off 1-3/4 turns left me with a thread or two above the nut...

this truck hauls a trl 90% of the time(hotshot/ courior work)... so based on your response its time to pull the tranny and have it looked at.
