trailer brake controller

Hi

Did the 2001 Dodge 2500 come with a pigtail for hooking up a brake controller? As my experience has been with ford 7.3 diesels, they all came with a pigtail in glove box for hooking up a brake controller. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

there should have been one in the truck, but i am sure it got tossed as they so easly do, there should be a empty blue conector under the dash with 4 wires in it thats what you hook up too, you will need to eather cut it off. or go to dodge and get a new one, or some of the bigger auto parts stores stock them.

I believe, and I will be corrected if I'm wrong, you need to have the factory tow package installed to have the brake controller plug under the dash. Most trailer brake controller manufacturers have the adapters from their unit to your truck. I have a "cheapo" unit and it had the adapter available.

My old 99 did not have the factory tow package and it had the connector under the dash.
I was also able to find the factory 7-pin trailer wiring harness on Ebay and intalled that. It came with complete intructions and only took about 1-2hours to install. It all hooked up to the factory wiring and worked great.

Search for it on Ebay and you will find it.

Checked for the blue connector and found that pig tail had already been installed, just someone just clipped wires and removed the brake controller when sold truck. Prodgiry on the way to install.

Thanks
