traction bars question

I have a question about ladder (traction) bars. I have a couple of friends that im trying to convince that theyd be better off running their trucks a little smarter than harder. Would it be better to just buy some or would it be better to even build some if possible? Anyway, im wanting to do some research and learn a little more about it.

Why do they think they need the bars? Are they having problems with excessive axle wrap? Yeah you can drive the truck a little less aggressive but whats the fun in that?? I have a problem with axle wrap , even though my lift is all springs in the rear, due to the fact that i drive a dually on 22.5s with 40 inch drive tires and i also have tons of power. This has caused me to snap several drive shafts. Since I have this problem I plan on making my own ladder bars this next week. I plan On making several types that the prices will probably range from $600- $2000 a set depending on design and materials used. If they are having axle wrap problems then i would say yes definitely find some sort of bars for their trucks, if not then i dont know if i would even sugest them unless they are going after a "COOL FACTOR" of having bars.
