Question Track bar HELP

So I replaced my track bar last night with Thuren's track bar. Install went fine and everything looks good. One problem is this morning I go for a drive and the steering wheel turns to far to the right and it stays there even when the truck is going straight. When I take a left turn everything lines up again. If I put the truck in park and do small turns from right to left the wheels turn too. I do not hear any clonking down there and everything is tight.....So what did I do wrong? Please help.

I am not sure I understand the problem...but it sounds like you need to have a alinement done...
are you saying that the steering wheel is off center, when parked with the wheels/tires pointing forward???

Yes

Hard to explain, but the steering wheel is straight and when I turn right and come out of the turn the wheels will straighten out but the steering wheel still looks like I'm turning right. If I take a left everything lines back up wheels and steering wheel. I definitely need to have an alignment, but it's almost like my steering wheel is loose. Maybe the alignment will fix this? Thanks.

E-Train,

I really can't see how changing the track bar can mess with the steering like that. I'd give Don a call and see if he can help you out.

You may need to adjust your drag link. Its front and center, connecting to the pitman arm on the steering box. Its easy, you loosen 3 nuts, slide the clamp on the left to the left, then turn the barrel until the steering wheel is centered. I had to do this when I put on my Thuren trackbar.

You might want to have someone turn the wheel left and right while you look under there and make sure you don't have play in other steering parts.

It sounds like it is not adjusted correctly. Meaning it is pushing the axle off to one side. I think everything just need to be adjusted adn you will be good to go. I would just take it in and have an alignment done on it, and let them know you changed the track bar so they can make sure everything is adjusted right.

How did you center the axle when you installed the track bar?
