when towing your sporttrac...

make sure the gear selector is in "N"



apparently the old man hooked up his sporttrac behind his RV and towed it ~50 miles, pulling over when he saw sparks in his rearview mirror. ...ford owners

I guess you dont have to worry about one of them rolling off on you! Seems to me he would of had to of gone quite a ways to burn that much off of it.

Doesn't look like all that much damage to me...

Or would the driveline be chewed beyond salvage? I would think that if the driveline holds the wheel from spinning, then it probably wasn't damaged any...



Oh well, use it as an excuse to buy better wheels and tires, right?

Oh yeah there's a lot of damage, see the lower section of rear springs out in front, along with look how far back the wheel is within the wheel well. Rear end is connected to the springs any more. If it chewed threw that much the center section has got to have been tore open too. OUCH!

And some people wonder why there is a push to get RV and 5ver owners/drivers to get a friggin CDL. Who pays for the interstate damage?
