Towing Mirrors?????

Does anyone make a towing mirror for an 01 the is elecrtic and heated with the flip out like the newer trucks. All I could find was that you needed to buy two sets of mirrors and then switch them around. Any one have any Ideas for me.

Thanks

I just put a set of the ***** on my truck. I leave in the AM for Vermont I will give you some feed back on them when I get back home. So far I like them better than my factory flip outs. And my truck had power allready in the doors very easy upgrade.

You bet. Do a search for Kool-vue. Straight out of the box & bolt on. Looks like 3rd gen, but made for our trucks. You will need to get the mounting plates from the dealer if your truck doesn't have them as the sheet metal is just too thin to support these mirrors.
I have mine, but ran into delays in getting them on... but now that I have my hitch installed, no more excuses.

dg49el and dg49er

If you need the backing plates, you can go to your dealer and order
RH plate-#55156128AB
LH plate-#55156129AB

You can't get them from Kool-vue as they don't sell retail.
I got mine from ebay - others have bought them from a couple of different vendors that sell them online.

Try this thread https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...light=kool-vue

About a month ago I put a pair of the **** mirrors from Geno's on my '02. These are heated and power adjust.

Installation was pretty much straight forward and took less than 2 hours for both, working alone.

These things are rock solid on the highway, stick Waaaay out there, and I can SEE back there for the 1st time since I bought the truck.

A couple of minor grumbles: 1. They're not square, and don't sit square on the truck, so to my eye they look a little odd, canted out there....tho' I'm getting used to it. 2. They're angled too high, and tho' the driver's side has - barely - enuf down and in adjustment, the passenger side has to be cranked all the way in and all the way down to see back, and it's really still a little high for my preference, tho' entirely work-able. Just gotta crane my neck a bit.

Seems odd that they'd put that much effort into a beautiful, solid, well made product like that, and leave a glitch like that in it.

I don't see any way to adjust that, and, as I say, it's a minor thing......just a little odd. I do like my new mirrors - they're worth every penny.

Lar.

I have the ****'s and love them. I would recommend them for everyone. They are good looking, and will set your truck apart from the others. They extend well and I have no problem seeing around my 30 footer.

As for the adjustment. I have no problem with them, but I am tall, and they work great for me.

Just came in from the trip to hell. I broke the input drum on the trans in PA. All is well know truck is fixed and we are all home again. But the mirrors are a dream thay are soild and I do not have to rely on a passenger to adjust them. You Know how those long trips are changing seat postions then having to adjust the mirrors so that you can see agin.
