Towing mirrors and six speed in a 98' 12v?

First off i found a 98' 12v 4x4 dually that i want to buy and they only want $7500 for it. That is the first order of business.

The only problem is i do not really care for the style of mirrors that are on the truck (old style) and i would prefer a 6 speed over the 5 speed.

If i get a six speed and the mirrors off of a 99-02 24v, will these thing bolt directly to the 12v?

BTW- This will be my first dodge.

I just realized this might should go in the performance and upgrades section.

You can get mirrors from koolvue that are power and heat for around 300.

Not sure one the other one, but I'm sure it can be done.

my friend put a nv5600 behind his 97 12valve in a 1st gen body. the only thing i belive he came into a problem with was the starter. hopefully someone else will chime in. thats a good deal on the truck espessially if it is a club cab! the mirrors off of a 99-02 will work im pretty sure.

Changing to a NV5600 used to be about a $4000 conversion. Driveshafts are different lengths, clutch plate is different. Now that 5600s and their repair parts are in short supply the cost has gone up. I don't know by how much. Standard Transmission in Ft. Worth won't sell you a rebuild without a core and I wouldn't be surprised if Blumenthals has the same policy. The mirrors, on the other hand are an easy swap.
