I am still trying to find some decent tow hooks for the front of my truck. I dont want to spend the $160 dodge is asking. unless that is the going rate. anyone know of any?

I bought the factory Mopar kit on line for about $100, make sure you get the backing plates that mount to the frame. some on eBay are selling just the hooks but you will also need the reinforcing backing plates and hardware that comes in the kit.

Here's a kit

Don't forget the Xtenders:

They keep hooks & chains from scratching the paint, make a great pair of steps for working under the hood, and occasionally come in handy as "curb feelers".

Yeah, he makes them. Top quality, I have a pair, and I think that they are worth every penny. Top notch service, too. See thread for mine...

Thanks Mark!

They work very well, look great and the price is quite reasonable.

The plates go behind the the existing mounting holes on both sides of the frame rails and reinforce the attachment for the 5000 lb. capacity. If I remember right the instructions said you have to remove the bumper to install them but I did it by just loosening up all the mounts and replacing the mounting bolts one at a time. I remember it was really a pain to get to the bolts that go through the frame. I had read somewhere that the existing mounting holes are not strong enough with out the reinforcing plates mounted to the truck frame.

Hope this helps

5000 pounds eh?
I don't think the extra length, with the extra leverage is such a good idea.
My truck is 8000 pounds empty.
