torque #s on AFC housing & plate bolts
Doe's anyone know how tight I should tighten the bolts on the AFC housing or the bolts on the torque plate? I may be going to be in there a lot making adjustments and hopefully some parts changes. But the last time I tightened the bolts that hold the plate, it kind of felt like I might have went a little too far, and may have sarted to strip out a little. It is hard to tell for me
, I was using a hammer and the driver. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knows a torque value, and wether it would be inch #s, or foot #s. I have hex heads holding the housing now so could accurately torque the plate, and the housing each time if I knew how tight they should be. I am open for suggestions. TIA. Marv.

I have never used
a torque wrench or anything like that for my AFC housing bolts. when i first got my truck, just to even remove the AFC housing bolts to get to my plate made me cuss out like. After banging the heck out of it out, (it was the breakaway screw) i just ran three afc screws for a while till i got another one from the dealership (i think it was 3 dollars for the screw...) I just tighten them hand tight, sorta like an oil filter, and i check them periodically as well, IMO engine vibration loosens everything in these rams every so often so i stay on top of that myself...
Its not the most practical method, but i have not lost any bolts that way, and it dont hurt to check it out under the hood...
Mind you its a good suggestion if you do not like to remove the intake deal to go ahead and get the hex head bolts..
