torque converter swap

Will a torque converter from a Diesel A518 non lockup swap into a diesel 727 non lockup? The A518 is a 92 and the 727 is an early 91.
Has anybody heard of Pro Torque converters? Pros or cons.

Nope, even if it would you wouldn't want too. Stall speed wouldn't even be close to acceptable.

Heard of them, never really heard much about them.

Just curious, why wouldn't the stall speed be close? I assume due to different axle ratio, and the extra 4th gear.
BTW Thanks for the reply.
I called Pro Torque and their tech support was really disappointing. They just wanted me to pull both converters out and compare them. For christ sake my 10 year old could have come up with that idea. According to their website they only offer one non lock up t/c for a Dodge diesel and they didn't know if it will fit a 727.

Ummm...the stall speed has nothing to do with the axle ratio (unless you wanna say that the engine torque would transmit differently, its just a lot of extra crap). Its the way the stator and TC as a whole is designed. A high stall TC has a low efficiency, say like 83 or 85 percent, or even lower for very high stall applications. A low stall is rather efficient, up to 89-93 percent. Taking a gas motor's 83% TC which stalls at 2000 rpm and putting it in your diesel will make it stall at 3000rpm or more (just an example) because your engine makes way more torque.

If nobody can help you, give DTT, HTS, Suncoast, or Goerend a call. They'll help you out even if you don't buy a converter from them, but good luck finding anyone who builds one for your truck.

He is asking about convertors that are both for diesel applications the only difference being model years and tranny model.

You would have to compare the drive hub+spline size for the input and reaction shafts also look at the depth from the flex plate surface to the drive hub.

Call Goerand brothers he will be able to give you a correct answer for sure.

How on earth did I miss the diesel 727 the first time. Better make an appointment for an eye exam.

Yes, the converters from an A518 and a 727 diesel application will interchange. 47RH/RE will not, different spline count.

Try again, Dave is definitely a busy guy. I wonder how many calls he gets in a day.

I tried again this AM and still no call back from them. I understand being busy, and I do not expect him to drop what he is doing just to talk on the phone. But at the very least in 3 1/2 days he could have his secretary call and acknowledge the messages and let us know they got them.
I have heard a lot of good feedback about them and they are fairly close to me. But after the lack of customer service I have seen so far I am not impressed.

Hey,

If you have a Goerend Brothers product with a problem Dave gets back to you first, they are terribly busy so it takes a bit before Dave gets back to the "new" sales calls. Keep trying!!
