Too much smoke w/ 305/555 mods?

Guy's,
I've been sort of hijacking someone elses thread so I thought I'd start my own. Im running the 62/71/13ss with the Smarty original beta 4.4 on lvl 9, and Im seeing a good amount of smoke. I also run a Quad X2 with it, but dont turn it up all the time. I'd like to find a way to reduce the smoke without sacrificing the power Im getting. I've read a few posts on here saying to run the TNT with some certain settings(I'd have to dig them up). My question is, would I be ok running the TNT with the mods I have or will I need springs and etc?

I know what a lot of you are runnnig on your trucks, but lets hear it from the 305/555 guys with similar setups to what I have! How can I reduce the smoke on this thing with my HTT turbo?

I have came to the conclusion it is not the Turbo. I never had an issue only running the Quad II std. box and turbo but I do have smoke with the Smarty. It's kinda the nature of the beast so to speak. The way the Smarty fuels down low is why you get the smoke but if you turn it down you will have more lag due to lack of fuel down low. It's a catch 22. Go back to stock TM and see how that does. Also, Run on timing #3 which is timing for aftermarket injectors. This will bring your boost up more, quicker.

I never found the TNT to perform as good as the 4.4 on any level. Only thing I can suggest is lower your level on the Smarty and up the x2 a little. Mine smokes pretty heavy too just on sw5.

Have you tried the aftermarket injector levels on the TNT? The reduced timing should help in lowering the smoke.

Make sure you don't have any boost (or pre-turbine ) leaks, and turn up the rail pressure.

Drive with a light foot or manually downshift so the turbo will light much faster at the higher RPMs.

Getting a cam in there will make the biggest single difference, and there's a bunch of minor things you can do to decrease spool-up time.

I'm pretty close in mods, I'm running Revo(not TNT)#7, RP=3,TM=2or3, wg=off. I'm also stacking the X2 w/ the #1 setting = City MM tune, the rest of the X2 is pressure only, no timing for hauling ****. My smoke levels are down as far as they can be w/ the Smarty in the picture w/ good drivability and still the ability to haul butt when I need to. Hope this helps, and no, I dont have any timing rattle issues.

62 is the compressor wheel, 71 is the turbine wheel, and 13ss is the stainless steel dual 13mm wastegate port size.

I pulled today with some different settings similar to those posted above and it was liveable. Smarty on #5, TQ=2,TM=2 and Quad II Std. on #2 pressure only tune. I hazzed some some smoke but never belowed it out like I could before. Lag was never a real complaint, just the large plume of smoke. Play with the settings is your best beat like was mentioned. My rail pressure was the same cruising down the interstate with the Quad off or on level #2 if anyone wanted to know. That pressure was 20,000-21,000 psi. yikes!!!! but that is what it does with no pressure at all so oh well. The injector kitty is full and stashed away for when that day comes.
