TNT TNT/R RP question.

I have been running the TNT/R for a few months now and have noticed a few things with the RP levels under certain conditions.I usually run level 3 torque 2,timing 3,RP 2 for daily driving and have done some light towing also.In O.D. the rail pressure is good at a set cruising speed(60 mph, 17-19kpsi).When I try to accellerate lightly the RP drops to 14-15kpsi and stays. If I stomp it the RP will recover to 25kpsi+.Problem is I don't want to romp on it when I'm towing to maintain RP and I don't want to dial the mp-8 into the mix because it keeps the RP up over 20k while cruising. It seems to me that the RP ramp rate is not matched to the duration the TNT is calling for.I don't have this problem with the older beta's or any of the pre-Revo tunes.I have not ran the standard revo to try it.Any of you guys noticing this?I'm not really complaining,I really enjoy the power of the tnt/r.Is this just a quirk I am gonna have to deal with running this as a daily tune?

I noticed the same thing. I have even gone a step further...I compared TNT to TNT/R RP-3....TNT holds RP better and recovers faster than TNT/R. I noticed the exact same thing as you...17.5K at 65mph, add throttle and RP drops to 15K and hangs out until I add a little more gogo. With TNT on RP-3, my cruising Rp is higher 19K and NEVER drops with throttle input. Goes from 19K to 22K almost as fast as TNT/R drops from 17K to 15K.

I like TNT/R but I also like the fast recovery of TNT, I have been testing DD of TNT, and TNT/R as far as MPG, and driveability. So far they both are .3MPG off of each other. TNT, gets better MPG but again only by .3, I did a 500 mile comparo with the same destenation and driving style.

But the RP response of TNT is more suited to my DD than TNT/R...and it seems that TNT/R comes on later than TNT does, so it spools slower DD than TNT does...but that is probably a function of the RP ramp!!!

I've noticed the exact same thing this past week. I think the rail pressure is designed to drop under some load conditions. With stock programing I see 18-19k cruising unloaded at 65mph. When I pulled my trailer this week, I noticed the rail pressure was around 15-16k at 65mph. The rail pressure would ramp up over 20k with more throttle, but with just the load of the trailer it would stay around 15-16k.

Consistant with what i see on my truck....but was thinking mine was related to having a stock cp3 and the TnT Duration being too much...seeing that you have a stage 3, i suppose that's a moded CP3's not the cure....i would speculate marco is aware of this and hopping it's addressed in the next release.

I just got my RP gauge, & noticed the same thing. I was thinking it was time to upgrade my CP-3, but someone told me that thier Stg-III did the same thing. I'm not having any problems with it either, just thought it's strange.

I have a dual CP3 setup with my TNT and it does the same thing. There isn't a linear ramp up in rail pressure under smooth acceleration. I don't think it's a big deal, the pressure is right there, right now when you stomp on it.

I wonder why the programming was done this way.

I can't believe its doing it with dual pumps!Just like bigwheels thought he needed a modded pump,I was thinking about duals. What you guys are describing is dead on.Its more noticable towing.Start up a slight grade and watch the RP drop unless you put more foot in it then its rolling coal and about to rip the neck off the trailer.I know the tnt/r is a race tune and it maybe asking alot of Marco to cure some of these 1/4 throttle quirks,I'm sure he wrote it with full throttle in mind and it performs wonderfully there.I just want to have the one tune fits all and with the PoD I was hoping to have it in the tnt/r.

I'm running the regular TNT POD software downloaded off the website, not the TNT-R version, so it seems like an issue with all TNT software versions. But I don't really consider it an issue, everything works great. The power still comes on steadily, even though the rail pressure drops a bit, and the rail pressure comes up instantly when really needed.

i belive ( just a guess ) that it was writen into the software to help eliminate the surge issue alot of people have.
i know the presure map was edited a bunch of times and part throtle presure was reduced several times @ tims request durring initial testing. i had requested some of the presure be brought back , after all tnt-r is a big boy program, and a little extra presure realy helps ALOT to atomise fuel when theres big holes in the nozels...

Mine does this too. I am running dual pumps with flux 3.3's and TNT/R software. It is a result of programming not inability to build the pressure. Just flip the pressure box on and whamo, 27000psi and holds no matter what, thats when the fun starts. Jay

I'm also noticing this with my TNT/R program. At first I thought it was a problem with my cp3(s) but if I press the pedal to the floor it instantly jumps to 24kpsi. Any thoughts on this from Bob/Marco? Is it designed to do this? Or is it a lil hiccup in the software? I'm curious to know the reasoning behind this.
