How big of a tire can you out on stock chrome wheels (94-99).I need to buy some (4 new tires) this is going to hurt.I would like to put a taller tire on the truck.Reason being alot of space between fender lip and tire, has always looked a bit odd

I'm running 255/85R6 BFG Mud Terrain.
You'll have to get a spare in the same dimension because with a smaller wheel on one side you'd either burn up your limited slip differential (rear axle) or have the steering of a BSE cow on ice if on the front axle.

I run 285 Toyo Open Country tires. I'm going to back down to a 265 next time. Not that they are causeing any problems (plenty of room) I just can find any "E" Rated at that size.

I know what you mean. My truck right now has 265/75 and they look small. My 97 had 285/75 and they looked good. As far as the E rating goes, just look at what weight they are rated to. Some of the D are rated to a E rating.

305/75R16 will fit, but look a bit odd on that narrow a wheel. 285's don't look too bad. The 305's seem to be just the right size to fill that wheel well though.

Thanks for all the info gents.I'am going see if i can track down some 265-85-16.I think it should fit on the wheel nicely and fill up
the gapping hole between the fender and tire.
