Thats a tiny tire. You mean 265 and a 285? Probably 3/4". The aspect ratio can change it much more than the width will.

10mm of section width. On a small tire like that, it's a relativly big change. On a bigger tire - like 265 - not so much.

20 millimeters width difference. Same aspect ratio would be taller also. A 185/70 tire would be 185 millimeters wide with a 70% sidewall hight, and 165/70 would be 165 millimeters wide with 70% sidewall height.
