tires rub control arms
i have a 97 12 valve 4x4 with 35's and a coil spacer. with stock 16" chrome dodge rims the tires hit the control arms at close to full lock. I heard somewhere you can put in 3rd gen control arms and this will fix the tire rub. is this true?

Mine only rub on the passenger side when turning hard right. Don Thuren makes a nice set of aftermarket ones but may be more money than stock 3rd gens.

OR you could just adust out your steering stops to get rid of the rub... You lose about 1/4 turn on your wheel, but do you ever actually go lock to lock on your box??? I almost never do... so it was fine with me...
Bear in kind I'm driving a 2wd... so it may be a little different from your truck to mine, but I managed to stuff a set of borrowed 305/70R17"s under my truck one weekend at the beach and it was awesome... My 2wd is lifted 3" in the front and 2" in the back so I was able to stuff those monster meats under it... and it made a world of difference. I think 4wd would be better but the dana 70 posi definitely helps a lot. I even got off into some mud and as long as I stayed on the gas the whole way through I was able to float over it with the bigger tires. My stock 235's would have sliced down and sunk me to the axles... UGH.
AYWAY... Alll I did was adjust my steering stops ... I just left it that way since I almost never go lock to lock anyway. Now I wish I would have took some pics of the truck with those tires on it. They were some kind of crazy looking cooper on the 8" wide factory rims... man those things had some grip to them...
