They're really the same tire... made by the same people. Only difference is the center piece is opposite the rest of the tread direction on them. I have the Nittos on my truck and they're real good on the road and held their own when I took it through the mud bog.

I like nittos, have some cooler tread patterns and don't sound quite as foriegn. But both are excellent tires. For the highway I would say toyo's will last longer, but if your looking for an aggressive tread that stays clean under most all conditions go nitto's.

Have you thought about Pro Comps?
They have 33 and 35 12.50/17's in All Terrain and Mud Terrain and they look absolutely great.
Better than the Nitto's and Toyo IMO.

I've got the 315 nittos and I love them. Got at least 10k on them and they still look brand new. They are quiet on the highway, very smooth, and are great in the mud.

PourinDiesel, what kind of mileage are you seeing out of the pro comps? I've looked at those several times but I don't know anyone who's running them.

BigBlue - almost every truck at the Atlanta dragway had Pro-Comps. All second gen trucks.

I do not know their handles on here though. Look to PM DavidTD...(I think) and he should or does know most of the guys from Garman(sp) performance.....RattlinRam may know some of their handles as well. Hope this helps - JKE

I have about 16k on mine and there is about 3/8 tread left, I rotate them about every 2500 miles and they still seem to wear unevenly but heavy truck, lots of power, heavy foot thats to be expected. I think my next tire I want to try the TRUXS MT's. Mike

Go Nitto's... I love mine, great traction and decent wear considering the amount of power my truck makes. Would last forever on a stocker. PRO-Comps SUCK!!! A friend of mine had a set on a near stock 03. They were the Mud Terrain, 1/2 tread in 7k miles and then a rear blowout at 8k miles unloaded. He tried to warranty it and they said they would but he has been awaiting reimbursement for 9months! He put the stockers back on and the other 3 are sitting in the garage...

True this^^

I'd go with whatever design suits your needs most.

The Toyo M55 is tough to beat for traction and durability, even on harsh gravel roads.

BB,
I get about 16mpg with the 04.5 on average with the larger tires.
This is with the overhead uncorrected.
No real change from stock.

The tires look and handle great.
I'm very happy with them.
I am used to tires wearing out prematurely because of overpowering them, so thats a non issue.

I'm seeing about the same MPG out of mine 'cept mine's lifted and has 3.54's in the rear with an auto. I'd think a set of 3.73's would be great for my truck but I don't want to spend the money on them. Oh well.
