Tires on the dually

I need to get all new tires for my truck and I was wondering how large of tires will fit on the 6x16's. My friends are trying to push me to put 285's on the truck, i'll just need spacers in the rear, but do they still fit on the rim?

265's fit but the are extremely close to touching in the rear. If you put any kind of weight back there they touch. Trust me, I just put new 235/85's on the back of my truck after running 265's. I loved the way they looked but with a trailer on or anything in the back, it meant disaster. I have gotten away with 245/75's on the back and loaded the trailer with 10K and the didn't touch, close though.

My thing is though, will 285 mount up on 6" rims okay? On the rear with the duals Ill run spacers to make the new gap, but will the tires still fit in 6x16's?

best thing to do is get some wider aftermarket wheels.

I run 235-85-16 tires on mine, and they are close on the rears. I would not run wheel spacers on my truck if you paid me. Just my 2 cents.
