Tire wheel combo

I am looking to put a 6in superlift on my truck. I was going to go with a 37/12.5 but after researching I belive I can push it upto a 38.5 with minor trimming or little bit of rubbing. I also found that the 38s are E rated which is what came on the truck rather then downgrading to "D". My questions are what rim width and backspacing assuming 18" or 17" rims. Also can i go with a 38.5/15.5 or would 38.5/14.5 be pushing it? The tires sticking out wont bother me (bushwackers). Thanks for the help!

I ran 37 x 13.5's on my 05 and they rubbed.. You will need to find the ideal back spacing 6" is Ideal..

Man...you were rubbing with 13.5s? Was that after you put 6in backspacing on? What were you rubbing on? Just plastic of metal. Dont want metal rubbing! Also how much was your turning radious reduced?

Just rubbed on plastic. Notice the air dam is gone! I didn't have 6" backspacing so that was the biggest problem!

Keep the backspacing as close to stock as possible and youll be golden.
Itll rub a tad on the control arms at full lock, but not a big deal and wont tear anything up.(Since I dont think youll be going full lock at high speeds )

There are several guys on here running 37s on 4" lifts( I know I will be too next time I need tires), and actually a few running 37s on a 2" level up front

Keep the wheels close to factory specs and it shouldnt rub much.
