Tire weight rating
I am going to be getting new tires for the back of my dually in the next few weeks. I thought I had the ones pickes out till I looked at the load rating. I want the bfg commercial ta traction but the load range is d and the tires I have now are E. Should I be worried? it says on the websile that they are rated for 2330 each tire. I know that usually goes down a little when they are duals but that should still exceed my rear axle weight.

Another compareable tire to the BFG. Michelin LTX™ M/S2 LT215/85R16/E 115/112R They run 173.00 a piece on the Dicount tire website. rated at 2470lbs.@80psi for dual. That price is 61.00 a piece more than the BFG's though.

Thanks for the input. The bfg looks a little more agressive though. I am looking for traction this thing gets stuck everywhere its only 2wd.

i know a few people that have 2500s that have ran d load rated tires and they have worn a lot quicker than when they had e load rated. personally, i'd rather spend a few extra bucks and get the e load rating.
one thing to think about is that you may not put 8k in the bed, but what about when you pull a trailer and have extra weight added because of the tongue weight? it may be getting close to that 8k weight.
