I ran 255/70/16 for about 6 months and the were horrible for mileage about 2 inches smaller than the 235/85/16 which is what I have now and my mileage is back up. A four inch exhaust will help some.

Go to User Cp and fiil out your signature so we know what all you have on your truck.

Welcome. Yea, I have figured I will go with some 305 70's, just a little bigger than the 235 85's. Now if I can just wheel and deal some of the tire sets I have now to get some money.

4" will help a little but only needed when you really get into bombing. Right now your money may be better spent on the basics, gauges, air filter setup, etc.

Just search and read up.

I could be wrong; but, I have never seen a 255-70-16 in anything except a "P" rating.

Are the tires you are considering LT rated??
