Tint or Not?

I need some opinions from those who have tinted windows.

I value vision at night, especially in towing conditions and/or rainy conditions. (I find it very hard to use the Dodge mirrors in rainy conditions!)

I'm sold on the looks but don't want to give up my functionality.

* Keep in mind I have a full bed cap, so my rear view mirror is basically useless for rear vision except on sunny days.

1. If you have tint do you find it makes nighttime vision in your side mirrors much worse, a little worse, or not too bad?

2. The above question in regard to watching your trailer through your side mirrors.

3. How does the tint affect your night vision in your side mirrors at night and in the rain?

4. Would you do it all over again? Also indicate your current percentage and if you would go darker or lighter than current.

TIA

I have to open my rear slider at night to back up, you cant do that with your cap. My windows are a shade or two past legal in the front, and I have the most problems at dusk when people dont turn their headlights on. I like the fact that not everyone can see all my toys inside my truck, and it does look a little better, but it has its PIA moments.

Thumbs up Tint I do Love it on All 5 windows

Tint I do so Love it on All 5 windows 4 doors and back window.I had all my windows tinted and you can feel the different at 100Am much moor at 5PM cooler and look good too but as far as towing .I tow a 28' tow hauler full of Harley's and golf cart so the contents are far moor valuable than the trailer itself and YES I will do it on my next truck.I had the cap dun in black out so you cannot see in at all.

I did what was legal here and I wish it was darker...I have never noticed any problems with mine while towing or night driving..
I had some almost limo tint on my old jeep Cherokees and it was hard to see out the back at night just go with whats legal or a shade darker and you should be fine.

I tinted the back windows to 5%, the front windows to 20%, both, especialy the fronts are WAY past the legal amount of 35%. Like said above, it is a little hard seeing right at dusk when people have not yet turned on their lights but otherwise not a problem. I can still see my trailers just fine during the day, and can also see the clearance lights just fine at night. If it causes night vision problems backing into tight places, just roll down your window.

The benefits of tint DO outweigh the problems. Matter of perspective I guess. You cannot see inside very well during the day, that DOES help on the theft side of things. I certainly would do it again. I have always done tint to my trucks, in fact I did this one darker than my previous trucks.

I have a cap as well and windows are done to match the factory tint. I noticed a little loss in visibility at night and in the rain but you get used to it and just add a little more caution. I can see the side marker lights clearly on a trailer at night but certainly a loss of visibility of the actual trailer. Overall night vision is decreased but as long as people have the headlights on you get used to dealing with it and to me the benefits far outweight the negatives. I have had all my windows tinted in the last 4 trucks usually around 15% and plan to do that to any future vehicles as well.
