The optimum timing only exists for ONE combination of RPM and fueling. That's it! Set the timing to be optimized for the RPM range and fueling condition you most commonly experience.

Assuming you don't cruise at over 2500 rpm all the time, your timing is too advanced.

I'd drop it back to 16.5-- 17 at the most. You'll get more bottom end, too.

I got the best with 16* on my 97. But it pulled harder at 15.5 so I left it there diesel was less than 3.00 lol anyway I don’t see that you have studs. I’m fairly sure if you don’t have studs or fire rings anything above 17 is barrowed time.

hahaha ya i forgot to put that i have studs in my sig. but i do. other wise my hg probably wouldn't have held when i accidently timed it at 26*, i used the wrong timing chart before . but i'll give 16.5*-17* a try, thats what new era recommends for thier 435 injectors. plus i have laser cuts so a little extra timing helps, thanks for the input, i'lll like to know what people have tried and what has worked
