Question Time for studs but....

My new credit card came in today and im itching to buy some head studs! I just dont know which ones to buy. I know you cant go wrong with ARP's but this A1 technology company i found is selling studs for $325. Thats about $100 less than ARP's. I havent heard of the company but 1 person told me they are used by alot of top builders so im kind of at a fork. I would love to hear if you have heard of this company before, good or bad

Ide like to save the $100 if possible, but not at the cost of my engine. If you know of this company, please let me know.

Go with the A1's and save some money. Just make sure they are cut on top for the hex relief.

On the ARP web site says the H-11 material must never be exposed to moisture including sweat and must be kept well oiled to prevent stress corrosion which could be a starting point for fatigue cracks. The A1' are H-11could this pose any potential problems for the use of these as head studs on our trucks?

get the ARP 625's if your really worried about corrosion...

CUSTOM AGE 625 PLUS®: This newly formulated super-alloy demonstrates superior fatigue cycle life, tensile strength and toughness – with complete resistance to atmospheric corrosion and oxidation. ARP is the first to develop manufacturing and testing processes for fasteners with Custom Age 625+. Best of all it is less expensive and expected to soon replace MP-35 as the material of choice in the high strength, super-alloy field. Typical tensile strength is 260,000 psi.

yeah they are overkill and 3x more but IMHO overkill on engine parts is worth the price.....even more when our engines are 8-10k to replace...
Flame suit on...

Are these companies that use the head studs on high power vehicles?

Is there anything special about the material used in the factory studs?

Thanx.
