time for fuel system

What should i do, i want to upgrade my lift pump cause i feel like my time is runninng out before i kill my stock one. should i :

a. go with the ad 150
b. use a walbro or holley blue
c. something else? fass maybe

I do not have a fuel pressure gauge, and dont really have a place to put one. a pillar is filled and then i have a gps and then the x2 rail pressure gauge in my truck. Do i need the fuel pressure gauge?

Also i primarily want this fuel to be filtered ....good cause i changed my filter the other night and there was alot of dirt and stuff in the bottom of my canister. Thanks guys

When my lift pump went I opted for a FASS. I purchased a 95 gph pump. Had it almost 2 years and 25000 miles. No issues and happy with it. Empty the water seperator filter every couple months, especially in the winter. The regular filter every year(about 15,000 miles). I don't have a fuel pressure gauge. Figure I did not have one when the stock one went out, if the FASS goes the truck will just stop. Bought it out west somewhere, had a deal with no shipping.

I would get the airdog and if you are worried about it filtering even better, throw a cat filter on there. I have nothing but good things to say about my airdog. It is not loud, and airdog had great customer service when mine went out on me. I sent it in to have them look at it and had it back about 4 days later along with two new filters.

I just installed an AD 100. This replaced a Holley Blue which replaced a Walbro which replaced the stock LP.

The full story is I installed the Walbro just like you so I would not need to worry about the stock pump failing. Well, after 2-3 years the Walbro failed sometime this past year but I didn't know it until I changed my fuel filter, it would not prime. I had run the fuel filter about 12,000 miles so I don't know when it failed. I was in Idaho Falls when this happened and it would have been at least the next day to get one in from Salt Lake City. I was able to locate a used Holley Blue and installed it. It was noisy and I am hard of hearing, I could hear it running down the hiway at 60-65 towing my 5th wheel. I got exactly 30 days of use out of the Holley when it stopped working, later found out that something had jammed it, I think it was part of a brush in the motor.

I then purchased the AD 100. The fuel pump itself is larger than either the Walbro or Holley, so I am hoping it is stronger and better. The biggest feature of the AD is the 2 micron filtering. I think this is an important feature and will end up benefiting the injectors. Just my 2 cents worth.

As you don't have room for a fuel pressure gauge you may want to consider adding their fuel pressure light.

For a fuel pressure gauge go to lazarsmith.com. The guy is a member on this site and makes all kinds of neat stuff for cummins. He has a fuel pressure gauge that attaches on the outside of the truck right where the windshield meets the hood at. THere is a plastic ribbed piece between the windshield and the hood and that is where it attaches to. I just figured I would let you know. Check it out if your interested. Its just another option for you

I have been running a walbro for about 60K miles or so. Never a problem. I am considering buying a 2nd one to keep as a spare. Easy in and out...if needed.

2 Micron filtration is a must on these Common Rails. I'd suggest you add a filter head after the stock filter and before cp3.

If you want good flow and the best filtration look at the link in my sig. Run a setup like that with a LP of your choice between the 1212 and the OE canister.

For LP's I recommend the AS Raptor, since you can adjust the pressure. A FP gauge is nice because you can extend filter life based on pressure.
