how to tighten flex plate??
i posted a thread about two weeks ago about a knock my engine had and i am pretty sure it is the flexplate. i pulled the inspection cover and you can pry the flexplate away from the torque converter about 1/8 inch. you can also look up with a flashlight and see the flexplate move away from the tc when you pry on it.now my question is this: how do i fix this??? i take it i will have to slide the trans back enough to inspect the flexplate for cracks and such. any advice is appreciated.

To tighten the flexplate to crank, you obviously need to pull the tranny and converter. To tighten the converter to flexplate, there is a cover on the passenger side of the engine adapter held on by two 8mm bolts. Remove those, and bar the engine around and thats where you get access to the converter bolts. Can't remember the size, only did it once. Something around 15mm I believe.
