Tie Rods

Both my right and left outer tie rod ends are bad and I need to replace them. Just wondering if anyone else has done this yet and what brand is reccomended (MOOG vs. SPICER ect.).

Check this set-up out. It gets rid of all your tie rods and is an awesome solid replacement!

only bad thing that I can see from the pictures is that the joints aren't greasable which leads me to believe you will hear a squeeking noise. correct me if I'm wrong.

Very rarely do they squeek, Just pull out some WD-40 and you are good to go. Or askDon to make you a set-up with greasable joints!

That looks like a great idea. But I can tell you one thing...I can replace a lot of tie rod ends for $430.

If I remember they are not DOT joints/rod ends and can not be used on road can they?
It could be different state to state but its like what they use for off road and the same with bead locks.....

Don't know if they are legal, but there's no problem running them here in CA.

You do need to check your local laws. Some inspections do not allow and mods to the stock steering systems.

Well, do that one out on paper and tell me how many times "YOU WILL BE" replacing tie-rods at the "cheaper part" cost in order to never reach the $430 you spend once. I have never had a setup like Thurens ever go bad on me, plus it is a solid positive steering response you will not get by doing the same tie rod ends.

The choice is your and there are other options out there, I would just recommend taking a serious gander at that kit. You will not be dissappointed.

If you live in PA don't go with that Thuren part...HEIM joints for steering are illegal for street use...

I run a set-up like that on my Jeep, but it dones't see the road...
