ticking sound in bell housing

I have 9000 miles on my truck and noticed a ticking at idle in the last 1000 miles, It sounds like it is coming from the bell housing area has anyone had this before and should I take it to the dealer. Its not really loud but noticeable. thanks

If its a standard the flywheel is probably ready to puke out it did on my friends 06 this spring @ 35k. i didnt really understand because you could shift into gears without grinding, but it wouldn't move) warantee is only good to 12 so you will be ok. they gave it to my freind because its a big problem(sounds like it needs to be a recal) they said the stuff is on a national back order.
seemed a little embarassing when my freinds shop guy had to come get us in my old ford half ton
that sealed the deal for me on never owning a standard. and 2 days after i got home i got my dodge. (id been looking for awile though) i may be wrong but i thought my dealer sid they are going to phase it out? he siad they rarely sold one no days

Sounds like a throwout bearing. No offense, but how are your shifting skills? For an 07 I don't see how you are having (or gonna be having) clutch problems if you haven't beat it up or mistreated it.

none taken, I shift the truck pretty normal I have driven a stick for about 20yrs so im not a newbe there. I took it in to the dealer this A.M. were both hopeing its not coming from the motor the sound has gotten worse and is sounding more like a knock from the bottom end. It feels like I'm in a surgery room, waiting for the news.

Oh man, sorry to hear that.... Hope nothing is screwed up too much. Don't remember the details, but I do remember someone having a similar ticking sound in that location. Haven't heard any more on it so hopefully its a small problem or not one at all.

just got it back from the dealer they could hear the knock but know codes so they gave me the go for the trip. I personally dont trust it but what are you going to do. "Know codes nothing wrong".

Did you get their suggestions in writing? In case something happens and they don't want to uphold their responsibility. Just a suggestion if you are taking a trip and are worried.

ya know thats a good idea, put the pressure on him/them to take some responsibility in case something goes wrong. Put your money where your mouth is per say.
