Ticking noise
Ok truck in my sig. When I start it up in the morning I notice a noise. It goes tick tick tick......tick tick tick.....tick tick tick. Then after a minute it goes away. I was thinking a lifter but it is too perfect. Also noise remains when you rev engine just goes faster. What gives? TIA

so is this only when the vehicle is cold, and it goes up with rpm's. is it heard when driving or just at idle. also tried to open the hood and isolate where its coming from ? could be alot of things. idler wheel, belt path, (all components) does the sound appear metallic. the main thing is try and isolate the sound and where it is coming from throught the cab most likely. you can get a piece of hose and use a a stethascope to isolate.
