Throttle sticking on an 03

My wife said that after she drove our 2003 4x4 3500 dually over a mountain she had three seperate times where the throttle stuck to the floor and she could not pull it back up. It happened three times after using the passing lanes and it scared her. It was not caught under the floor mat.
Truck has 144,156 and is out of warranty. Any help would be appreciated

Was it a mechanical stick? or Electrical? Open the hood and removethe cover off the APPS sensor. ( black box drivers side of valve cover in front of intake horn) from there remove the throttle cable and you should be able to tell if there is any binding in the cable, pedal or linkage. cable should move the pedal with ease. If that checks out, it might be a problem with the APPS. Check for DTCs by turning your key on and off 3 times ending in the on position. If the APPS is the problem it should store the code.

My neighbor has a 4 x 4 like mine and his stuck once on him. Traced the problem to a broken wire in the cable. When you mashed the throttle all the way down, the little wire strand that was broken would stick out of the sheath. New cable, no problem now. Maybe your's has a broken strand somewhere, look there too.

I guess I was under the impression all 03's were in front of the intake horn. The two other places I know they're located is under driverside battery or on the throttle pedal itself.
