Second gen truck

Why did they take the 6spd out for the 5? I've rode that truck before it was stretched, awesome!!!!! I tried to talk my wife into it but sorry she still doesn't get it. I guess burning coal just gets in your veins. She drives a gasser and even worse an Avalanche 
!!
