I here the Adrenaline offers great power with less smoke. It should be available in the near future. Are you running the latest Smarty tune? It is a little less harsh down low. It still rolls the coal but not quite as bad down low.

assuming you have the mad ecm you should try a smarty or find someone with one, then you can change power levels. I'm not sure what level on the smarty a mad ECM is equivalent to but maybe someone can chime in.

You could go with an adjustable box but the problem with them is that they fail quite often, just do a serach on here for edge comp problems or quadzilla problems or any other brand and you'll see... Not to say they don't work well while they're working but when you keep a truck for 5-10 years or more you want something that will last!

The Catcher is equal to #9 on the Smarty, I have had one for 2 1/2 years now, and even though its fun as heck, especially with Mach 6s and a Silver Bullet, its brutal on the bottom end as far as smoke goes, I run my Van Aaken also and when its plugged in I get 3/4 the smoke that I would with the Catcher, again the Catcher is sweet but its got a lil bottom end smoking problem,so I would try a Smarty or any of the other 65 hp boxes, that way later on if you so choose you can grab a fueling box and have a nice stack, and my truck pulls just as hard with the VA but you just gotta push the pedal a lil further.

My bad . I did not understand that you had the ecm instead of the Smarty.

Not much you can do with the Catcher. I have one in the closet gathering dust.

A stock ECM with a timing box of your choice is a great alternative. And the older VA is about as good as anything.

One of the best boxes out there is the Van Aaken V5. Has 90% of
the Smarty low end with alot less smoke. Wish I still had mine

If you only want 65hp then look at the XZT+ box. It has a lot of features, same throttle response as the Smarty and better top end. It is adjustable and has a mileage setting as well.

It also has warm up features you can download as well as a high idle option if you want it. The downloads are free and they take about 30 seconds to perform.

Here is a post with someone with Jammer 5's and the XZT+ on a stock charger, well it has a 14cm housing on it. He made 410/909 with the XZT on L2 and with timing only he made 370rwhp.

The box is going to do boost fooling ALL the time even in the off setting so with a flip of a switch you will be running as cool as your truck with injectors and boost fooling will run.

Flip the switch to timing only and it should cool the egt's some and add a little responsiveness but, it will mainly help with the smoke.

From our testing you will get more power, less egt, less smoke and better mileage. I think most would agree although every setup is slightly different.

Yes and Yes. If you want more the next thing I have to offer is the Adrenaline. Does a LOT of stuff and would do everything you are looking to do and more but, it does come with a longer installation and heavier price tag!

With the Adrenaline you can have built in de-fueling, gauges and a LOT more power if you want it. PL00-PL01 and PL02 are the same as the XZT+. Everything above that is a lot more.

Sounds to me that the problem is not only the fueling of the Catcher ECM, but the lag of that big turbo.

If smoke is a problem, you need to address it from BOTH ends, imo-- less bottom end fueling AND a more responsive turbo.
