Think I got him?

Fella that I'm TAD to school with right now has an '06 Duramax with Hypertech and exhaust only with about a 6-8" lift and 35" tires and says that he thinks his truck can take me (outrun and out pull). Well, I went to Hypertech's website and the dyno graphs for an '06 put down about 365hp/665tq at BEST and I'm going out on a limb here to say that in order to sell product, they put their truck on a Dynojet to try and get the highest numbers that they could...but let's go worst case scenario and say they did their pulls on a Mustang. I put down 424hp/879tq on a Mustang and I am on stock height and tires...do you think he can get me?

Yes, I think you can take him...if you win, he has to put one of those "Dodge peeing on a Chevy" stickers in his back window for a month, and vice versa, but you won't lose.

U should be able to get him IMO. He doesnt have as much power as u and he has bigger tires so hes at a disadvantage in those 2 areas. How does your trans do holding the power?

Be careful! I think you can out pull him, but in a race, I think he'll get ya.

I would be careful about the pull. Especially if you all are hooking rear bumpers. If he has the higher truck (with his lift and tires) he may "pull up" on your truck and make your pulling traction a lot less.

We did the race, but he "didn't have time to do the pull". I beat him by a little over a truck and a half, maybe two in what was probably a little over an eighth a mile and I was still walking off on him I don't think that he knew much about his truck at ALL. He was claiming that he had 450hp/950tq with just that Hypertech and I think I figured out why...those things have "built in dynamometers"...shows you how much those fluff your numbers. I told him he should put his truck on a REAL dyno if he really wanted to know his numbers.

He took the loss pretty bad...so being the nice, upstanding Dodge owner that I am...I proceded to inform him about EFI live, bigger turbo options and upgrading that "mighty Allison"...if he follows through, I won't be lining up against him any time soon again

duramax's are pretty quick, i've seen a few racing around here, i'd line up against one if I had a built auto, but I just can't shift fast enough to race, lol.

Good job on the race, if he still wants to hook he might have you if his truck is 4door he has higher hitch and traction advantage watch out for terra grapplers they hook well on pavement.
