Question Thermostat

I think that my thermostat is not working properly. It takes about 20mi,30 min, of driving at speed to warm up the heater never gets above just warm. The temp gage moves up and down once it warms up it will periodically drop to cold
or go all the way to hot.
My question is will a Napa thermostat work OK? or should I use a OEM from dealer. Thanks for any help.

Seems normal to me.

Get a thermostat from Cummins.

Typical for a 12 valve, nothing is wrong.
Hook the truck up to a load like it's designed to be used and it won't do it.
