Thermostat leak.

93 cummins 12v
It seems to be the lift plate is not flat and leaks.
Can I just pull the lift plate and have that work o.k.?
Don't want to use gasket in a tube.
Local shop wants $200 to fix and flush.

Also, what do you think is best flush compound?

Thanks for the year and posting in the right section that helps us help you.

So my cousin has a 94 12v and I remember him saying there is a freeze plug or a threaded plug behind the lift plate that rusted out causing a leak.

Is that right 12v'ers?

Do you have a Cummins thermostat along with the Cummins gaskets?

BTW, you have a 1st gen pickup. You are still on the wrong forum.
