Is there somewhere online where you can buy lemoned 6.7 trucks?

Well, most of you know that I had to sell my truck due to the current economy kicking my butt. I loved the truck and I am having a very hard time spending a bunch of money on an older, high mileage truck that may or may not have been abused. I was riding around today and this thought just struck me. Why not try to find a lemoned truck, buy it super cheap, pull all the crap off of it, and then enjoy it??
So, does anyone on the East Coast know where I might find such a truck that Dodge would love to unload????
A Laramie would be nice too.......

I was trying that route before I bought mine. There is a company in texas that often sells these on ebay. They even advertise the "lemon" or "buy back" part in there ad. They also state that all problems been corrected and full warranty apply. You would have to search past/current ads to find one but they were there for sure. The price is ussually a few grand less than a comperable truck would sell for. Not much less. I found about 20 trucks that were like this and they pop up on there from time to time. I also think the original selling dealer has the choice to fix and remarket that truck or send it off, but Im not positve on that one.

Get into the auction. I looked at a 07 on a lot here that had been bought back and they wanted more for it than I paid for my new one.
Lots of them out there but getting one for a reasonable price good luck, unless a buddy gets you the auction price.

I think I saw one of those websites for the 6.7's, but the site keeps crashing due to the number of vehicles for sale. I think they need to increase the data capacity of their server.

There is an auction house in Chesapeake, VA. Only problem is you have to wade through the junk to get to the good stuff.

DZ, you are gonna need a friend who is a sales manager at a dealer. Before I found my current one I was doing the looking on Manheim auctions. Chrysler runs their products through these, and I can assure you that there are lots of lemons on these and they go real cheap. The one I'm in was not one of these, but a trade at at a GM dealer that went through a GMAC sponsored auction. Chrysler didn't have anything that week. These auctions are online and all over the nation almost every day. First step would to be find that dealer who does use this and get friendly. Dealers are hurting for sales and any interest won't turned down. They post their lists up a few days before the sales so there would be time to look into those you were interested in.

Thanks Chris. I decided that I will just get into an early 3rd gen for now and worry about a newer truck when I can easily afford it again. I'm still doing fine but I'm just not sure what the future holds at my place of employment and I don't want get into the position again where to have to sell another truck that I can't afford.....

I just got one directly from Chrysler for 24K off list with only 88 miles on it. I had put it out over a year ago I was looking and ready to buy. Went and met 4-5 butt head dealers offering Blackbook for their lot lizards. All told me I was crazy and would never get one for prices I was offering.

My 09 truck was part of a large lease deal and DCX made a mistake and delivered it with a manual trans instead of auto. Putz could not drive it and threatened to walk on lease arrangements for all 30 vechicles, if not replaced.

DCX made decision to replace vechicle Monday morning at 10-11 AM, I bought it at noon.

The dealers and insiders know the "good" vechicles and will call each other and talk about the goodies when they come up and they rarely go to Manheim or other auctions.

Cash is King when it comes to these deals and 2 min delay will have you watching it drive off into the sunset. A 5 Cleveland spiff, to lease sales mgr, saved me over 10K.

Life is good, I AM cheap...

I will probably get calls for next 6 months, from my scrounges (sales or lease mgrs with their hands stuck out) when more of these pop up, if you want to deal.

Nah. Thanks anyways. I'm just gonna look for an 03 or early 04 with not too many miles on it. It's not gonna be a daily driver for me so I don't really need to spend the $$$ on a new truck anymore...

Hey TZ, seeing as you did keep a wagon. I suppose you could hang on to the "PIMP" title. Maybe get some faux woodgrain for that new Family Truckster 2000.

Better act real quick....

Green Xmas tree air fresherners are on sale at Kmart, to keep the stink from DC from affecting the subburbs, and stimulate the used car markets values NOW.

This is all part of the Obammy "change" we are expirencing.
