LOL!!!!!!!!

All these water injection threads have me feeling rather hopeful today. Im glad, even smiling some to see the surge ( pun intended ) toward water injection.

Today I am tossing out some of my normal crankiness toward Diesel performance. There may be "hope" yet. LOL

Easy on the methanol though. Under 10% IMO. Contrary to some the makers of water injection system telling ya "its ok to use high concentrations of meth" That stuff is no better for your engine than it is for a meth heads teeth.

Don, when installing water nozzles do you feel that two nozzles in the intake horn or IC plumbing is sufficient? Such as in many of the water injection kits (Snow, cooling mist, etc.) Or would placing nozzles in the intake plate as close to the cylinders worth while on a daily driver say 500-700 hp.

Funny you're posting this up... I'm having problems with my snow kit, and I'm gonna tear into it this week... might need a new pump...

Pump does not appear to be working any longer...just quit... No explanation for it.
Relatively new, not worked hard or run dry.

OK, I know water helps keep things cool. But is water necessary if you have your EGTs under control.......even at high HP?

My truck like it sits will dyno at over 500 hp. Has on several occasions. But unless im running at the track or maybe even when dynoing, it will only hit high egts for a few seconds at the most. At what point do you know you need water? My future plans include probably 1.8 fluxs and either a small set of twins or slightly bigger single turbo. I'd like to get to 650 and leave it alone...........and have an awesome 500,000 mile daily driver/trailer tower with a little fun every now and again at the track/dyno...maybe even a sled pull.

My pump was really corroded... don't know how that happened... so I cleaned the contacts, and when I use an air compressor to the boost line, it will blow, but when I hook it up to the jets and run the truck... nothing. I used to be able to drain my 2 qt tank in a 1/4 mile, but since I put this turbo on... nothing.

I'm going to tear everything apart this week. I cleaned the jets the last time I was troubleshooting it, but nothing happened. If I don't get anything this time, I'll call snow and see what they can do for me. If not, I'm going for one of the cooling mists in the DTR store.

I may have too much boost for that pump to overcome.

Well, in a perfect world, everyone has the money to match up what they want, and never have too much fuel or not enough air.

Me, I went a little too big on the single, and a little too big on the injectors, so I have to play catch up. A little water goes a long way, and when I'm on the track, it is worth it.

When running a Water/Meth setup is it controlled only by boost? Say you have it set to come on at 35psi. Is it always going to come on then or can you manually control when it injects?

What do you guys do in the winter time? Remove it all from the truck?

Hey Don!

One of the "surges" is me...the Flux 2.5s you built are doing great! I'm definately going to get a water kit, but still in the air about designing my own or going pre-made.

Do you have a favorite that you like to see?

My kit allows for either boost or EGT's. I cannot fine program it, as it will only come on at preset points, I can't set them.

I don't take mine out in the winter, but when I went to W VA to see someone, I had to drain the tank.
