Trying to install new wheels, XD SPY wheels.

my lug nuts aren't going on very well, about half of them will start by hand then spin on just fine, the other half well.....can't get them started and if I try to spin them on they'll cross thread.

thinking I'm going to replace all my studs and all the new lug nuts that came with the tire/wheel package off ebay.

also while I'm at it I want to sandblast and paint the drums as they look like hell behind the new wheels

So I'm having troubles finding the right studs, and the right lug nuts for the wheels. I think I might go with a high quality splined lug nut kit possibly black ones.

Thats wierd, 10 packs? Can u clean yours up with a die ?

Those Raybestos ones are for the D44 ( 7500 GVW ) ours are 8800.

That being said, I no longer trust Dorman for fasteners, unless you can find some from 20 plus years ago in a dusty auto parts store bin.

I would buy a thread die and run it on my OEM studs first.

hadn't thought of the die, I'll do that sure be a ton easier and cheaper.
don't have a die kit, but think I can just get a single one for the stud and run it

heh found out what my problem was

when I ordered the tire/wheel kit from ebay that also came mounted balanced with centercaps and lugnuts........

found out half of the new lug nuts were 9/16 18 and half were some metric 14 / 20 or something like that
