Tempted to get a cheap 08'

Just left one of the local dealers who has 7 4x4 2500's left for sale. They are selling them for 16 - 17K below msrp. They have a couple of loaded mega cabs that msrp for $49.5 and are "on sale " for $33k. The salesman told me I could probaly get a little more off that! Problem is I do still really like my 2004.5 srw 3500 4x4 and it is paid for and only has 57k on it.
Are your dealers doing this?

Keith

I vote that you keep what you got. What convinced me was the statement, "and it's paid for".

Yep, I know. It is in excellent condition as well. I definetley like the dark charcoal interior of my 04' compared to the lighter color they have now. I also get much better mileage I am sure. It is 100% stock and has always served me well. I guess I need to change my sig as it has not been my daily driver for 3 years now, it rests in the garage as I now have a chevy 1500 to run around for work.

I was also tempted to pick up a new one but with 16-17k off sticker my 06 isnt worth that much. Besides that I like the 5.9L

I like my 06 to much to part with it but another incentive, is I think they have 0% for 72 months going on as well. Whether that includes the 2500/3500's I don't know, but it's still pretty good.

Just keep in mind that if they're selling new ones that cheap, they're sure not giving decent trade value. Now's a great time to buy a new truck, but it's a terrible time to sell one or trade one in!

I am sooo tempted to go up to the dealer and buy a new '08, but 16 months left vs. 72 months left is what keeps me in my 04.5.

You would not be disappointed as long as you knew that you may eventually need to lose some parts. You could buy a problem free truck but then you would still have crappy mileage so doing the EGR delete is really a good idea on any 6.7l truck...

Amen to that, Patriot2500, you and I are almost in the same boat. In my case, 18 sure beats 72!

I regret not getting the Mega Cab. But I bet I would take a huge hit on mine that the difference in price would be too great of a deterant. Who the heck is buying these things new, let alone used... Perhaps we are all just a bit

I regreted not getting the Mega also. So when the good deals came around again, I looked into trading. Needless to say I'm still driving my paid off 2006 Quad cab. The December 2006 deals were amazing for the last 06's here. I paid less than half of the sticker price. They only wanted to give me 12K for a spotless 06 diesel, quad cab, 4x4 that only had 25,000 miles on it. My wife says I'll have to be buried in this truck.
