What temps do you see pulling?

On my edge juice engine temp read between 204 and 210 fahrenheit pulling my 9,000 lb travel trailer. is this normal? on my stock factory gauges the needle was in the middle. I also get a P0483 fan clutch code. Should my temp be lower if fan problem was fixed?

yea check your towing mileage on it and then put all the stuff you have on your ctd as far as chips and see how long that 6.0 really last

i know im just mad. cummins is best. But that truck sure sails down the highway. mine seems to struggle. I used his on tow/haul (ford) and for a while put it on overdrive it had no problem. with my 2004.5 ram i always use tow/haul. If i try overdrive it wont pull it at 65 mph. Go figure. I know my dodge has 100 hp extra than hios truck and probably 300 ft lbs torque more (with edge level 2).

You have 3.73 gears I beat ya.......... 4.10 with the auto is the only way to go. Mod the tranny if you really want to put it down. TC, VB, and flexplate

And by the way I always use overdrive unless on a real real steep incline.

Sounds like there's either something wrong with your truck, or you dad has an F750.

sallyman1,

I’m surprised to hear this from a Journeyman heavy equipment diesel mechanic!

Your truck isnt running right. You should be able to pull in overdrive with ease

What everybody is saying is your truck has a problem and its not right. You should have no problerm pulling that weight even stock. Add minimal power with a tuner and you will be amazed.

Could be the difference between a 5 speed auto (5R110) in the Ford and the 4 speed auto in the Dodge. Also being a Dually he probably has the 4.10s vs the 3.73s. And overall the torque shift trans on the Ford has been OK, however, the 6.0 on the other hand...
